MEDICAL MASSAGE

Medical Massage uses techniques that are similar to Swedish massage and Deep Tissue massage, but it is specially adapted to deal with specific areas. It is used primarily to release trigger points, increase blood flow, and reduce pain. Areas that will be covered include Cervical Strain, Whiplash, Frozen Shoulder, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Sciatica, Shin Splint, and Plantar-Fasciitis.

This course will cover the following:

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage aiming to drain the lymph fluid from the tissues. Manual Lymphatic Drainage creates immunity by spreading immune cells and other factors throughout the body. This type of massage helps treat fluid retention, lymphedema and esthetic applications. Students will have the opportunity to learn a safe and effective new modality. Areas that will be covered include anterior and posterior areas of the body.

This course will cover the following:

HOT STONES MASSAGE

Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones expand the blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation. The stones are an extension of the hands during the massage. The stones can be used with their heat alone or as massage tools in combination with essential oils and chakra balancing.

This course will cover the following:

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Susana Echeverri has been a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist since 2002. She taught massage therapy at a private institution for eight years in Miami, Florida. For the past eight years, she has been a continuing education provider. Throughout the years, she has worked at various spas and acquired experience in different types of treatments. She has been trained on manual lymphatic drainage for the upper and lower extremities, including CDT, and many other treatments in the United States and Colombia. George Odera is a massage therapy instructor for the past twelve years for a private institution. He is currently a prominent spa coach and trainer and has shared his experience not only in the United States, but also in spas and schools in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. He teaches several massage therapy techniques including Deep Tissue Massage, NMT, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Aroma Therapy Massage, Shiatsu, Ayurveda, Lomi-Lomi, Balinese and Life Dance.
