ADVANCED MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE
After completing the seminar the student will: Acknowledge the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system. Acknowledge the benefits of lymphatic drainage for primary and secondary lymphedema. List of indications, precautions and contraindications. Able to use the appropriate technique to help drain excess of fluid. Demonstrate proper body mechanics during the treatment. Identify the lymphatic organs. Trace the lymphatic vessels in the body. Able to identify the major lymphatic watersheds. Able to identify the major categories of immunity. Acknowledge the benefits of massage towards the lymphatic system. Demonstrate where the lymph drains from each part of the body. Identity the locations of the lymph nodes through out the body. Areas that are included during the seminar: torso, upper and lower extremities. This seminar does not include bandaging and compressive garments.
Hands-on: Torso and upper and lower extremities.
