Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage aiming to drain the lymph fluid from the tissues. Manual lymphatic drainage creates immunity by spreading immune cells and other factors throughout the body. This type of massage helps treat edema due to blunt trauma, open wound and post surgery. Manual lymphatic drainage can help reduce inflammation, speed healing, and diminish scar tissue. The course includes anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system, indications and contraindications of the treatment.
Hands-on: Torso and upper and lower extremities.
